The assembly of the Cupra Raval and the Volkswagen ID. Polo in Martorell, near Barcelona, Spain, is not only the arrival of two new urban electric cars on the production line, but also a confirmation of the leading role that SEAT and CUPRA will play within the Volkswagen Group in this new phase. The urban electric car family is the first multi-brand project of this scale led from Spain for the Brand Group Core, based on a shared platform designed to reduce industrial complexity and production costs.

Four different models will be built from this common base, all aimed at bringing electric mobility closer to a wider audience in Europe. According to the company, this strategy will generate cost savings of 600 million euros and reinforces the role of the Iberian Peninsula as one of the key centres for making electric cars more accessible within the group.

In the following video, we can see the assembly process of these new models on the Martorell production line.
